Team USA Shootout Leaderboard

With the final three Team USA spots on the line all 40 players knew it was going to take nothing short of their best to make this prestigious team.

And the competition sure brought out the best in many. But in the end it was two former Team USA members and a man who had been so close so many times before who made the team.

Touted as the local hero, Las Vegas native and former Team USA member Brant "Oso" Arrington did not disappoint. One of the most well known players in the GT community, "Oso" – who was featured on Fox News the very same day - came out firing. First it was a –27 on Rustic Bridge then another on Glacier Ranch. And to cap off the round Oso fired his third -27 to become the lone person of the weekend to attain the -130 mark for a cycle! The Team USA spot was the second for the Sin City star.

Next was Sonu Khatri who was playing out of Lenexa, KS (by way of Dayton, OH). Another well-known name in the world of Golden Tee, Sonu had a minor hiccup on Indigo when he posted a –21. Luckily he shot an astounding –28 on Rustic Bridge to counter it. All it took were three more solid rounds to finish with a –124 and his second Team USA honor.

With Oso and Sonu finishing earlier than most, just one spot remained – and the battle was tight.

All the way to Vegas, Lynnwood, WA's Michael Jaeger had only one goal in mind - to make Team USA. Despite being close numerous times he had yet to make the team. But a -27 on the opening round of Rustic gave Jaeger gave him exactly what he was looking for - hope. Three more mid-twenty rounds and he was not only excited, but also in position to make the team. He just had to get through the last course unscathed. More nervous than ever, Jaeger headed into Moose Landing more worried about not making the big mistake than shooting low.

"I just decided to play it safe. I mean, I must have laid up on three or four holes."

Jaeger's score of –23 on the final course wasn't earth shattering but it was more than enough to get him on the team with a combined score of –126. From there it was all about fist pumps, cell phone calls and celebrations for possibly the most excited 2008 Team USA member.

The three new members join captain Graig Kinzler along with Jeff McClellan, Jason Matkovich and Marc "The Mouth" Muklewicz from the Midwest Open and Andy Haas, Ryan McCook and Chris Litzinger from the Southeast Open.
