"OSO" 28 Henderson, NV -21.68 -31 343 2007 West Regional Team USA Shootout: Champion |

Brant "OSO" Arrington certainly won't have to travel far for this year's Worlds. The 28-year-old Las Vegas-area resident will be joining Team USA again after first making the team back in 2005. Brant's made numerous Golden Tee road trips before however and says one of his furthest tourney treks was probably the best. "My fondest GT memories would have to be my trips to Canada," he said. "Playing at the legendary Originals with all my Canuck friends is something I'll never forget." OSO earned his Team USA bid by dominating the Western regional. His five-course qualifying score of –130 was tops, besting the remainder of the field by four strokes. Brant hopes that his Regional success continues, but understands there will be tough competition ahead come September. "I haven't played as much during the past year due to work obligations, but I've been playing for a long time and know if I am going to shoot well I'll have to kick it in gear." When Brant's not spinning the trackball or playing a hand or two of Pai Gow poker, he can be found hitting the links or playing racquetball. |

"Bernz" 28 Alexis, IL -22.08 -33 1,660 Club Lucky Team USA Contest Winner |

Bernz has certainly had his Golden Tee moments, but winning the '08 Worlds would jump right to the top of the list. Brian won Club Lucky's "One is the Luckiest" contest to earn his third appearance on Team USA, and says making the team this year has taken on a much more significant meaning. "Making Team USA this year feels so much more different than it did in '03 and '05. With the large amount of players expected in Vegas, this just has the feeling of something much bigger." Coming from someone who has been in the GT spotlight before that's saying a lot. In June of '04, under the glare of CBS and Sports Illustrated cameras, Brian holed out the first hole of sudden death to win the inaugural Player's Charity Championship against then world champion Chris Eversole. While he still manages to get in nearly 100 games a week at My Place Bar and Grill, the 28-year-old salesman says his playing habits have changed now that he's a husband and father. "Playing everyday isn't a possibility anymore," he says. "If I do get out, I really have to play my games in bunches." |

Perhaps no one has earned more Golden Tee respect around the globe than GT prodigy Andy Haas. The 26-year-old professional from Stowe Ohio won the prestigious Tournament of Champions in 2004 at the ripe old age of 21. He earned enshrinement in the Golden Tee Society with that victory. Since winning that tournament, Andy has added plenty of hardware to the trophy case but has yet to add the elusive World Champion title. Just last year Andy made GT history by posting an utterly incredible –136 five-course qualifying score at the Southeast Regional Team USA Shootout. In doing so he shattered the previous tournament record by three strokes, and earned himself a Team USA roster spot for an unbelievable fifth time! Haas also went on to win the Main Event at the Southeast Regional, marking one of the most impressive weekends in Golden Tee history. This Golden Tee superstar loves seeing his name on Team USA. "It's different every year, and it's always an honor to play with and against the best in the world." |

Perhaps one of the best stories on this year's team, Michael Jaeger beat the odds and a very strong field by finishing second at last year's Western Regional to lock up his first ever Team USA spot. The Washington native has been playing Golden Tee for over ten years and says playing in live tournaments has really improved his game. "The first live tournament I played in was very nerve-racking, but the more I traveled the more comfortable I got, and the better I got at the game." He'll be easy to recognize at the Worlds this year, just look for the guy playing with a glove on his hand. "I started wearing the glove about three years ago," he said. "I put it on and haven't taken it off since. I don't need to worry about sweaty palms or having to carry around a towel anymore." When Michael isn't spinning the trackball at Just Left Bar and Grill, chances are he's trying his luck on a real golf course. |

After a four-year absence Sonu is back on Team USA. This 33-year-old Ohio native has been a trackball enthusiast for over ten years and says he manages to play at least twice a week. Sonu, who earned his Team USA spot with a third-place finish at the Western Regional Team USA Shootout, has seen and played just about every Golden Tee course ever created. "My favorite GT moment goes all the way back to 1998 at Arbor Hill. It was the first time I ever shot –20, and I'll never forget it." When he's not playing at Dean Liakakos' legendary Golden Tee stomping ground King's Table Billiards, chances are he's playing pool, watching movies, or playing games on his computer. |

The Tiger Woods of Golden Tee? Perhaps, if you consider what Graig has meant for the game and the performances he has put on when it matters most. Last year Graig won his second Golden Tee World Champion title at the Rio, and hopes his Vegas success translates to the Hilton as well. "Anything can happen at an event like this," he said. "With the strongest field ever for a major live tournament, the title is truly up for grabs." Kinz will not only be representing Team USA for an amazing fifth time, he is also the team captain and can't stress enough how important the Team USA vs. World Team showdown is. "Nothing is more fun, exciting and competitive than going up against the World Team. It's not about money, it's about national pride." The 28-year-old Chicagoan is also a member of the exclusive Golden Tee Society and has received national coverage as one of Golden Tee's biggest superstars. Graig plays the majority of his games at Flounders in Chicago and is also an avid Cubs fan and real golfer. His –35 is the lowest documented score in the history of Golden Tee. |

"Cincinnasti" has proven to be just that to his GT competitors. A physical therapist by trade, Chris is now regarded as one of the elite players in the world. Playing since 2000 Chris has become a threat to win any tournament he enters. There's simply no denying his impressive tournament performances especially during the past few years. Last year Chris shot a jaw dropping –33 on Indigo Mound, one of the lowest scores in Golden Tee history. Chris' nickname may need to change as he's recently moved to Indiana and is playing his games at Deano's CC Tavern in West College Corner. Making his third Team USA appearance, Chris says he loves playing with "the best of the best," but also treasures playing in the Worlds for another reason. "Getting everyone from all the world to meet in one place is not an easy thing to do. It's a joy to see the friends I've made over the years." Earlier in '08 Chris won the Indy Open over an unexpectedly deep field, and hopes this tournament success is a springboard to bigger and better things on Golden Tee's grandest stage. |

Jason Matkovich has been synonymous with Golden Tee excellence for over a decade, and now this virtual golfing legend is back where he belongs, playing for his country on the biggest stage in the world. Jason would love to add a World Champion title to his long GT resume, which already lists three Player of the Year titles and enshrinement in the Golden Tee Society. "It's a blast playing at an event like this," he says. "And playing for Team USA is also a great honor." This 32-year-old Golden Tee superstar made his mark on the GT community once again this past year by taking second at the Midwest Regional Team USA Shootout. In doing so, he made Team USA for the second time in his illustrious career. Though work and family have cut into his GT time, the Troy Michigan resident still plays at least a few days a week at Augie's in Madison Heights. He's also a real golfer and bowler. |

Jeff loves Golden Tee and he's played a lot during the past seven years. But his hard work and dedication have paid off. His earnings success in Prize Play is matched only by his Team USA companion, Andy Haas. This Grand Rapids MI resident showed his skills at last year's Midwest Regional Team USA Shootout in Joliet IL, dropping a –129 five-course qualifier, and taking first in the event. Jeff had this to say about his return to Team USA. "It feels good to make the team again, I'm definitely excited and ready for another run at the Cup." Playing Golden Tee since 2001, the 29-year-old marketing exec loves the competition at the Worlds but also loves seeing the many friends he's made over the years. "I want to do well and I want to win the Cup, but the Worlds is also a great time to see people you only get to see a few times a year." |

During the past five years chances are only a handful of players have played more Golden Tee than "The Gambler" from Florida. A Golden Tee regular by trade, Ryan is regarded as the premier GT player in the southeast and one of the best in the world. Playing his games at Your Place Bar and Grill in Jacksonville, the seven-year GT vet placed third at last year's competitive Southeast Regional Team USA Shootout. In doing so he secured his first-ever spot on Team USA. While Ryan may be a Team USA rookie, he's had plenty of tournament experience. "I played my first live tournament in Georgia four years ago and I was hooked. I play almost everyday, but there's nothing like live tournament action!" Ryan, also a card player at heart, says he should feel quite comfortable on the Vegas main stage. "Doing something I love, and getting onto the team for the first time is unbelievable. It's going to be quite an experience." |

The Mouth. He certainly lives up to his nickname. But even as loquacious as he is, his exceptional play cannot be ignored. If this past year is any indication of achievements to come, expect to see this 30-year-old Illinois native make America's Team for years to come. Marc earned his first Team USA bid by taking third at the very competitive Midwest Regional Team USA Shootout. Many felt it was just a matter of time before Marc would reach world-class status, and he realizes how far he has come playing the game. "For me this was my biggest accomplishment thus far," he said. "It's something I've wanted to be apart of for a long time, and the entire process was pretty awesome." This major accomplishment was just the beginning of an incredible hot streak however as Marc finished second at the Frozen Open in January and took third at the Player's Charity Championship in February. But he wasn't through yet. In March Mouth won the inaugural Golden Tee Closest-to-the-Pin Championship sponsored by the Illinois Lottery. The victory was worth $5,000 and his very own 2008 Golden Tee machine. "I would truly love to win the World Championship, and do it in front of hundreds of fans and friends from around the World," he said – exhibiting his characteristically low-key personality. And befitting his new laid-back attitude Marc ditched "The Mouth" as his nickname and changed it to "NEXTWORLDCHAMP" during World's qualifying. |

"Thor" burst onto the Golden Tee scene perhaps faster than anyone. Playing since only 2005, this 27-year-old Minnesota native has put together an impressive resume of tourney wins. His victory in the Promo Nation Team USA Contest earned him membership on the team. His –129 cycle won the title at the 2007 Midwest Regional, which he refers to as "his greatest GT moment so far." In '08 he continued the trend, recently winning the inaugural Minnesota Open. While these tourney wins have been impressive, a good showing at the Worlds by this Team USA rookie would further cement Thor as one of the premier GT players in the world. "This is huge," he says. "Since I first started playing, the World’s is something I've wanted to be a part of." When Thor's not spinning the trackball at his home bar Mad Jacks, chances are he's bowling or playing softball. |
