Hole Information
Name: "Skip Rock"
Par: 4
Distance: 420 yards

DESCRIPTION / ENTRY INFORMATION

The idea behind this hole is to hit your tee shot to "Skip" off of a large rock in the middle of the fairway. If hit correctly, the ball should skip off the rock and land on the green. If hit incorrectly, a multiple of negative results could happen from bouncing backwards and rolling down into a collection area called "The Hole" to missing the rock and rolling down the steep fairway and possibly ending up in the water in the front of the green. When the wind is blowing against you top spin will required; wind blowing with you and backspin will be needed.

An alternate tee shot to a small landing area through a narrow tree gap for odd tees and other extreme conditions is surrounded by large boulders along the water edge and a lowered sand trap to the right. This leaves a short iron shot into the green.

The green which slopes towards the water is surrounded by 2 sunken sand traps with boulders in and around the traps. Green approach accuracy will be mandatory as hitting any of these rocks could result in a bad bounce into the water behind another rock. Hit too long and a berm behind the green slopes down and away from the green leaving a difficult chip shot back on a green that slopes away from you towards the water.

A couple of "safe zones" have been placed for careful players. one is located behind and to the right of "Skip Rock" to safely land a drive if needed because the fairway past the rock slopes excessively to the water. Another "bailout" safe zone has been created left of the green for those who want to go for the green but conditions are not proper for hitting the green.
