For the second straight year, Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis challenged the winners of the Marvin Lewis Golden Tee Challenge at Willie’s in Covington, KY on Wednesday, April 4. All proceeds from the event benefited the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. The Marvin Lewis Golden Tee Challenge was a 20-bar event series that started in October. Contestants at various Cincinnati-area locations competed in closest-to-the-pin and best nine-hole competitions. The winners met at Willie’s at 6:00 p.m. to compete for six spots in an 18-hole round of Golden Tee LIVE with Coach Lewis and Golden Tee three-time national champion Steve Sobe. In addition to Sobe being on hand, other notable guests included Bengals coaches Ricky Hunley and Jay Hayes and Bengals alumni Dave Lapham, David Fulcher and Larry Ely. “I enjoy playing Golden Tee so I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing against the best,” said Coach Lewis. “I think this is a fun way to tell people what the Community Fund is doing and raise money for the kids.” Door prizes and raffle items were given away throughout the night, including Coach Lewis autographed items. This year, two-man teams were used in the final match, with Coach Lewis paired up with Golden Tee ringer, Steve Sobe. Coach, along with Sobe, played well but they were taken down by Cincinnati's top player, Chris Litzinger and his partner, Matt Alvis. 2007 MARVIN LEWIS CHALLENGE FINAL RESULTS
