Flounder's Bar and Grill to host for Fifth Annual Chicago Frozen Open

FloundersThe wait is over!

The Chicago Frozen Open is back for a fifth year to kick off 2008's tournament schedule with an entire weekend of Golden Tee.

After three months without a live tournament, January 18-20 at Flounder's Bar and Grill is THE place to knock off the rust, kick the winter blues and warm up with some hot competition. Everyone from world champions to Duffers will be in attendance for a tournament where the entire goal is to have a good time.

"This is truly meant to be just a fun tournament," said Frozen Open tournament director Steve "0verfiend" Moskalin. "It's for the players and in all the years I've never heard of anyone not having a good time."

The fun kicks off Friday night with a warm-up $20 entry, blind draw Scotch Doubles tournament where players can win cash or Ben Hogan wedges.

Then it's all about the main event. $30 gets you a weekend pass to one of the greatest Golden Tee experiences. Two course qualifying and match play span over Saturday and Sunday, with a double elimination championship bracket and single elimination purple bracket. Prizes will depend on the number of participants, but last year’s winner, Jeff Lannen, walked away with a $650 first place prize. Plus a set of Ben Hogan BH-5 irons in a Rumple Minze branded golf bag will also be awarded. Not a bad way to start the year!

And if that wasn't enough then the location will surely get the itch going. 0verfiend calls Flounder's Bar and Grill the premiere Golden Tee bar in Chicago. With three Golden Tee LIVEs, great food and an amazing atmosphere, it's the perfect place to start 2008 right!

So if you've been bored sick waiting for the 2008 tournament schedule to begin, wait no more! The Frozen Open is coming and YOU need to be there!
