During Chicago Rush Arena Football League games this season, the Allstate Arena’s jumbotron will double as the world’s largest video game monitor.
That’s because Golden Tee Golf, the most successful coin-operated video game in history, is partnering with TopGolf, the new full-swing golf experience recently opened in Wood Dale IL to conduct the TopGolf Golden Tee Hole-in-One Challenge at all Rush home games.
Beginning with the opener on Monday March 3, three lucky fans will be chosen at random to participate in this exciting on-field promotion. Each contestant will have an opportunity to play Golden Tee to hit a hole-in-one. If no one gets an ace, the fan closest-to-the-pin will win a bevy of prizes supplied by TopGolf.
Everyone at the game will be able to follow all the action right on the arena’s jumbotron.
“Wheeling out a 450-pound arcade game and connecting it to the Allstate Arena’s jumbotron in the middle of a football game proved to be quite a challenge in itself,” said Tanesha Wade, director of operations for the Rush. “But we were so stoked about having this promotion we found a way to make it happen.”
TopGolf is a new point-scoring game played at high-tech golf ranges with real clubs and balls. Using patented technology to provide an entertaining, competitive, and instructional golf experience, TopGolf makes practicing fun.
“We just opened the Midwest’s first TopGolf facility in Wood Dale,” said Laura Combs, TopGolf’s event coordinator. “Partnering with the Rush and Golden Tee is the perfect way for families to learn about us.”
The promotion is the brainchild of Rush president Mike Polisky, and exemplifies the creativity that sports franchises are utilizing to entertain fans when there’s a lull in the action on the field.
“The TopGolf Golden Tee Hole-in-One Challenge will add a new level of excitement to Rush games that our fans will love,” Polisky said. “It was a blast putting this promotion together. Besides being a golfer, I’m a huge fan of Golden Tee. We’re very pleased to be working with these two outstanding companies.”
Golden Tee Golf is the flagship product of Arlington Heights IL-based Incredible Technologies, the largest manufacturer of coin-operated video games in the U.S.
“Seeing our game on the Allstate Arena’s jumbotron will be a thrill that we never could have imagined when we created Golden Tee in 1989,” said Elaine Hodgson, IT’s president and CEO. “We can’t wait to see a fan hit a hole-in-one. The whole place will just go crazy!”
