Golden Tee Creators to Choose Best 3 of 50 Ideas

As the seasons changed from winter to spring over the past thirty days, thoughts of golf replaced those of cold winds and snow shovels in the minds of true golf fans across the country. With visions of lush green fairways, gentle breezes and sunny blue skies, you can almost feel the thrill of making that first birdie of the year.

Ah, golf season is here!

And the month preceding this special time of year marked the perfect time to kick-off the Goldentee.com Design-a-Hole contest. Those days spent by golfers hibernating and polishing their clubs for that big day on the first tee got their creative juices flowing and Golden Tee 2009 will benefit.

The result?

50 - count 'em - 50 ideas submitted for judging by Golden Tee co-creators Jim Zielinski and Larry Hodgson. From crazy to clever and insane to intellectual, the amount of creativity and work put forth for this contest has the team at Golden Tee Central in awe. Everything from precisely modeled computer aided drawings to colorful doodles and even one entrant that… well, let's just say "it took hundreds of dollars to ship" his idea.

So kudos to those of you who gave it a go - we know you had fun with it and we know you put forth a lot of effort. Everyone's got ideas but it takes true creativity to communicate your vision to others. So to that end, we say, "Bravo." Jimmy Z

What's next?

The fun is about to begin. Within the week, Larry and Jim Z. will be locked in a room and will spend hours pouring over every inch of the submissions. They will take your ideas, try and picture how they would fit into their vision of Golden Tee 2009 - the celebratory 20th anniversary edition of Golden Tee Golf - and they'll determine whom the finalists will be. This will be no easy task. As the inventors of the world's most successful coin-operated video game, let's just say that these guys take what goes into Golden Tee pretty seriously.

And it won't just end there! From May 1 - May 15 the fate of the winning idea will fall squarely into YOUR hands. The finalists will be listed on Goldentee.com and open to contest of popular vote. Be ready!
