One World, One Week, One Hundred?

Qualifying Off to Record-Breaking Start, Event Registration Tops 100

Hours after qualifying for the Golden Tee World Championship began on July 1 there were already a handful of players on the leaderboard.  Seven days later, over 160 players have completed their 50-game minimum to be ranked - more than double the fastest qualifier pace set in any of the 7 Regional Championship events!  WOW!  But there's an even more important number out there that players need be aware of - 100.

In a week's time, over 100 eligible qualifiers have completed the registration process and guaranteed their spots for the '08 Worlds.  Rules state that the first 400 eligible qualifiers to complete the registration form will be locked in for the final event, leaving all others who register on a standby list to compete at the Las Vegas Hilton on September 13-14.  That means 25% of the available spots in the field are now spoken for and the qualifying pace is showing no signs of fatigue!

Atop the leaderboard after the first week is Christopher Thorbrogger of Goldenvalley, MN with a staggering best 50-game average score of -26.94. Last week's leader, Dannyboy Beall of Wichita, holds the second position and is a great game away from reclaiming the top spot. If you're not on the first page of the leaderboard don't fret, whether it's a -26 or a -2, it doesn't matter - anyone can compete this September in Las Vegas.

How can you be a part of the Golden Tee event of the year?  It's easy!  Simply play your 50-games of registered Golden Tee LIVE 2008 and be one of the first 400 to register to attend the finals.
