Golden Tee Players Compete in Golf Channel’s Amateur Championship

John Molinaro Finishes Top 10

The Golf Channel’s nationwide Amateur Tour is growing in popularity. Individuals and teams of amateur golfers from cities across the country compete for fame and (a little) fortune. It’s not the PGA Tour, but it’s as close as many of us will get.

Well, the guys from Las Vegas, besides being real golfers, are big fans of Golden Tee. John Molinaro thought it would be a great idea if the team competed in the finals in Orlando wearing Golden Tee golf hats.

“While everyone was wearing Titleist and Taylor Made hats we had Golden Tee,” Molinaro said. “Everybody commented on how cool that was. They were a huge hit.”

We’re not sure if it was the hats or their own natural talent, but Team Las Vegas finished a more-than-respectable 16th out of 64 and John went on to finish 7th in his division.

“I love real golf and I love Golden Tee,” he said. “Golden Tee is more like real golf than it is a video game. All the things that go into real golf – the various conditions, clubs and balls – are in Golden Tee. And you can’t beat it for a competitive experience either.”
