Dave Hollingshead was an ordinary Golden Tee player. With a simple sketch, he transformed himself from GT fan to GT legend and now will be forever linked to the game's storied history.
His clever and appropriately titled hole design "The Falls" went from drawing to unmistakable par-4 on the Mount Rushmore-centric Black Hills course. After grabbing forty-three percent of the twenty thousand plus online votes in the two-week span, the GT fans crowned Dave and his design, winner of the inaugural 2009 Design-a-Hole Contest.
Now the contest returns and players are once again given a shot to mold their passion into a creation worthy of a spot in Golden Tee 2010. Those who want their shot at redemption or simply crave to have their say, have the opportunity. Again.
"Last year's contest scratched the surface on the creativity and the unbelievable amount of hole knowledge our players have," said senior game designer and co-creator of Golden Tee Golf Jim Zielinksi. "I feel that this year we will see more originality and have much tougher choices narrowing down the field to three finalists."
It's a new year. The stakes are the same, but the slate is clean. Don't let your brilliant ideas go to the wayside, submit an entry and see what our prestigious GT judges have to say. Dave Hollingshead did, and now we want to see who will make history in Golden Tee 2010.
Don't just play the game, be a part of it.
