QUICK STATS:

Boomer’s Bar and Grill in Mansfield, Ohio was the spot for an epic Golden Tee celebration on September 10th, and 2009 Design-a-Hole winner Jim Little felt the excitement as his hole, Tropical Torment, officially debuted in his hometown.
Playing in his home bar, with his friends and family in attendance, Jim Little was the man of the evening, but he wasn’t the only famous Golden Tee personality in the building.
2008 GT World Champion Andy Haas made the hour drive from Stow, Ohio to catch a glimpse of Golden Tee 2010 and to honor our latest Design-a-Hole winner. It was Haas who handed over a one-of-a-kind plaque to Little - a moment Jim says he’ll remember for a long time to come.
“Andy is obviously an unbelievable player, but he’s also an all-around great guy,” Jim commented. “Having him hand over this award in my home bar is something I will never forget.”
Set up on Tropical Torment, hole 7 on Tahiti Cove, Jim teed off on his design while the camera rolled, the light bulbs flashed, and his friends and family cheered him on. Think Arnold Palmer on Thursday morning at the Masters, but with more enthusiasm and much more beer. His nerves definitely got the best of him, and Jim ended up getting wet on his second shot. Only two shots later, however, Jim gathered himself and drained a long putt for par. The crowd erupted.
Before the rest of the festivities got rolling, the bar got a behind-the-scenes, first-hand look of Jim Zielinski designing Tropical Torment. From recreating the original sketch, to his food choice that day for lunch - the day long process was captured and narrated by GT's ultimate course designer.
From there, Boomers got a taste of Golden Tee 2010 with one of the game’s premier players. Andy Haas gave some pointers and tested out the new courses, all the while enjoying the night playing as himself for the first-time ever.
With his world championship win last year, Andy won himself a spot in the game and is now playable alongside fellow world champions Graig Kinzler and Chris Eversole.
“It was pretty awesome seeing and playing as myself for the first time,” Haas said. “While I was certainly excited, I think my fiancé was more excited about it than anyone else.”
Jim Little and Andy Haas may never have a close match playing against one another, they both, however, are now living legends in their favorite game and will impact GT fans around the world starting this fall. Thanks to everyone that came out to Boomer’s for an unforgettable event.
Special thanks go out to Mike Zappa of Loraine Music who helped provide the games as well as the entire Boomer’s Grill staff including owners Jason Berger and Brian Gale.
Stay tuned for much more on our Design-a-Hole winner and the release of Golden Tee 2010.
