GT's Tournament Season Kicks Off This Weekend in Orlando - Who Will Take Home The First Title in 2010?

Massive amounts of snow got you in the dumps? Then perhaps a last minute tournament trip - avoiding the snow-covered states of course - is in your future! The Golden Tee tournament season is about to get underway and what a better place to start than south of the snow, cold, and depressing heart of winter.

The Florida Open is set to take place starting Thursday, February 18th through Sunday the 21st. The site for this event will be Mugshots Sports Bar and Grill in Altamonte Springs. If the weather isn't enough reason to make the trip, then the Golden Tee certainly will be. Some of the game's best will be in attendance, all looking to start 2010 on a high note.

The action kicks off Thursday night with the very intriguing Closest-to-the-Pin tournament. Players will go head-to-head against one another playing CTTP LIVE. The player to end up closest to (or in) the cup will move on to the next round. All ties will result in a rematch. This mini-tournament is double elimination and the entry fee is only $10.

Friday night more pre-tournament, tourney action will take place with blind draw doubles. In this format, teams of two will take turns hitting shots against other teams. This format in single-elimination and entry fee into this event is only $15.

Saturday the tournament will get underway with a qualifier to determine seeding for bracket play. Once the qualifier is complete, regular bracket and purple bracket play will begin. On Sunday, bracket play will conclude and our 2010 Florida Open champion will be crowned – not to mention the 1st champion of the year!

IT will be donating a set of irons, golf balls, and tee shirts to the event. Entry fee into the tournament is $100.
