QUICK STATS:
Last year's inaugural Denver Open exceeded all expectations, immediately establishing itself as one of the must-attend tourneys throughout the calendar year. In 2010, the Denver Open not only returns but is also taking on a much greater cause in the process.
This year's Colorado showdown has been deemed the PCC West, aka the kickoff event for the Player's Charity Championship. The players running and attending the Denver Open have been kind enough to share the wealth and are now raising money for SALUTE Inc., the charity chosen to be the beneficiary of the tournament.
Circle August 13 –15 on your calendar. Table Steaks East in Denver is the location of the tournament for the second consecutive year. Table's received absolutely rave reviews from everyone who attended the event a year ago.
The festivities get underway on Friday evening with the blind draw scotch doubles tournament. Entry into the single-elimination event is only $20.
Saturday, the action really heats up with a 4 or 5-course tournament qualifier depending on the number of attendees. Entry into the event is $100 and play is expected to begin around noon. Once all qualifying rounds have been completed, purple bracket matches will begin later that evening.
On Sunday, the purple bracket will conclude and the elite bracket will play itself out until the 2010 Denver Open champion is crowned!
There will be $6,000 added to the prize fund if the field is at least 75 and $5,000 if less than 75 players sign up. Regardless, the Denver Open is going to be one of the largest events in terms of prize payouts and turnouts.
IT has donated $1,000 to the prize pool and is also providing a set of irons, a putter, a golf bag and 2 cases of golf balls. On top of this, all Denver Open players will receive a limited edition Denver Open Golden Tee Player Card just for attending.
Whether you're interested in playing in the event, donating to SALUTE, or simply looking to hang out and watch some Tee – we recommend that everyone check out Table Steaks East for the 2010 Denver Open.
