QUICK STATS:
Finding the right virtual equipment suited for your game is critical when trying to establish consistency over the trackball. Throughout the years of Golden Tee LIVE, these options have been explored and the list of high-performance equipment has grown with each and every installment.
In past updates, players were given three new sets of clubs and balls to select from, plus they could use any equipment they purchased over the years. While this has become the familiar ritual with each update, Golden Tee 2011 isn't just another update.
Top Flite has been the face of Golden Tee virtual equipment since the beginning of LIVE. In 2011, however, Top Flite equipment will no longer be available in Golden Tee.
"We had a fantastic run with Top Flite and appreciate everything they brought to Golden Tee over the past six years," said Golden Tee co-creator and course designer Jim Zielinski. "While we will certainly miss the presence of their brands in the game, we are also excited about some of the new opportunities this will open up going forward."
These opportunities can be seen immediately in GT 2011 where players will be able to select from and purchase fourteen total club sets, eleven of which will have similar properties to the club sets from all previous years. You won't have to repurchase any corresponding set in the update if you've purchased a similar set before: it'll automatically be updated in your Player Account.
Also available in 2011 are three new sets that are unlike any you've ever seen.

Kickin' It Old School: Making its Golden Tee debut is the Hickory set (left). Equipped with a niblick, mashie, cleek and more, this retro set has the sound and feel that many of the older players will immediately relate to. Best of all, even though you'll be playing with a vintage set, the clubs performance will still be state-of-the-art.
Sand Saver Savior: Our next addition to 2011 is the Slick Cast set (middle). This set is built for those who might battle tougher lies on a more regular basis. The low-friction coating on the club produces much longer shots out of bad lies (sand, rough, dirt, etc.), while also offering up a very consistent set in terms of distance and limiting gaps.
En Fuego: The final club set to debut in GT 2011 is the Pyro set (right). If you are one to struggle with your shots around or into the green, this might just be the perfect remedy! Equipped with four wedges and the game's most stylish driver, this set offers up a unique sense of control for those who are already comfortable with their long-range game.
The new sets will no doubt create an interesting wrinkle in a year loaded with equipment options, but what about the other sets? How can you accurately find the set that suits your game now that they've gotten a visual facelift? How do you know which set in 2011 accurately represents what you've played in previous years?
Have no fear; Goldentee.com has answers.
