Gearing Up in 2011: Part 2

You've Seen The Clubs, Now Get a Sneak Peak at the 2011 Virtual Ball Lineup!

You've seen the clubs, and now it's on to the golf balls.

In Golden Tee 2011, it's a whole new ball game. And as many of you are already aware, Top Flite will no longer be the face of all virtual equipment.

Golf Balls"We had a fantastic run with Top Flite and appreciate everything they brought to Golden Tee over the past six years," said Golden Tee co-creator and course designer Jim Zielinski. "While we will certainly miss the presence of their brands in the game, we are also excited about some of the new opportunities this will open up going forward."

These opportunities were seen in Part 1 of Gearing Up in 2011 where we unveiled the virtual clubs in Golden Tee 2011. This included three new options, including the already infamous Hickory set, plus 11 sets that will accurately resemble what you've played with in recent years. Now, however, we are showcasing the other changes to the virtual equipment as we explore what's new with the golf balls.

There will be 12 different virtual balls to play in 2011, all of which correspond to previously available balls seen in Golden Tee LIVE. And while things certainly will look differently in '11, there's also more information to help you decide what to play.

"Because of the variety that is now available, we've also added more performance information that highlights the attributes of each ball," said Golden Tee project manager Brian Jandula. "We think this will be very helpful when trying to determine what ball best suits your game."

These charts, which can all be seen below, will be available on-game and should help sort out what you're looking for in a particular golf ball.

As was explained regarding the golf clubs, you won't have to repurchase any corresponding ball in the update if you've purchased a similar ball before: it'll automatically be updated in your Player Account.

How can you accurately find the golf balls that suit your game now that they've gotten a visual facelift? How do you know which ball in 2011 accurately represents what you've played in previous years? Have no fear; Goldentee.com has answers.
