How To Play :: Clubs

The overhead layout map has been a familiar guide to Golden Tee players since the original game debuted in 1989. When using woods or irons, this simple graphic shows players where they are aiming and provides a general reference point for club distance.

*Yardage indicates each clubs approximate distance. Club type, wind and swing speed will vary the total yardage achieved. To view the actual shot distance, glance at the small number on the bottom-right of the overhead map after swinging.

While the club distances are close, they are not automatic. It is easy to extend shots substantially past the general distance, so be cautious if you’re trying to stretch the club. Also, despite what your distance marker shows during rainy conditions, your ball will not travel any shorter in the air. It will simply roll less after landing.

Putting
When putting, the map is an overhead view of the green and shows golfers the slope and distance they must account for to drain the shot.

Always pull your putter back before putting; it will give you better feel and control.
